23-A North Main Street  •  Cranbury, NJ 08512

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Mother’s Day to our kind caregivers, our clever problem solvers and selfless nurturers! I hope you have noticed the handsome new street signs in town, courtesy of Cranbury’s Historic & Preservation society. Please consider membership with this organization that works tirelessly to protect the history of our town.

In Community news, Dr. Jessica Ware, entomologist and chair of the division of invertebrate zoology at the American Museum of Natural History, was awarded 2024 WINGS, Women of Discovery award for USA! This international distinction honors the ground-breaking work of women explorers and scientists who are actively out in the field. Congratulations Dr. Ware!

Additionally, in true fellowship, members of our police force participated in the annual Police Unity Tour bike ride from NJ to Washington DC to honor police lost in the line of duty. We thank them for representing Cranbury in this important cause.

Our township committee meeting last night had an environmental focus. We proclaimed May as “Garden for Wildlife” month. Through the National Wildlife Federation, residents can turn their garden, or outdoor spaces into a Certified Wildlife Habitat.

Last night we passed an ordinance regulating the storage of de-icing materials to protect our waterways from unwanted runoff, and we passed a Tree Removal and Replacement ordinance that will have direct impact on our Storm Water Management. The ordinance requires residents to apply for a permit to remove trees and it provides guidelines to follow for tree removal and replacement in Cranbury. I thank all residents for doing their part in being stewards of the environment.

During our meeting, we also approved an Eagle Scout project to build and place bicycle racks in some of our parks and preserves.

Construction at Cranbury’s School is well under way and our superintendent shared the following letter with the community;

Dear Cranbury Families,

At the beginning of April, we broke ground on our Referendum Construction projects…so exciting! Since that time, we have been restructuring our webpage to include up-to-date floor layouts, timelines, photos and more!

We are super excited to share our refreshed Webpage with you all!  The site includes a Construction Update Newsletter so that residents can stay in the loop with the progress of construction and other need-to-know information. We encourage you to visit the site to learn more about the construction!

In addition to the website, we will share consistent newsletter updates including photos with all of you. This first edition focuses on the Academic Commons and Main Office spaces, which are currently under construction.

Last week, we just posted a short video walkthrough of the construction…. Come take a look!

Thank you for your continued support!  We look forward to sharing our progress with you over time … Full Steam Ahead!

Take care,

Jennifer K. Diszler, Ed. D. Chief School Administrator/Principal
