Wellness Session - The Benefit of Trees

Event Date:
Wednesday, April 20, 2022 - 7:00pm

Our next Wellness Session on April 20th will be on the Health Benefits of Trees:

Recent studies about the health benefits of spending time around trees illuminate what those of us who “grew up outside” already know.  Trees enhance our lives in myriad and mysterious ways. Let’s explore what the Cranbury area tree canopy has to offer.

“Research is showing that visiting a forest has real, quantifiable health benefits, both mental and physical. Even five minutes around trees or in green spaces may improve health. Think of it as a prescription with no negative side effects that's also free.”

                                                  - NY State Department of Environmental Conservation

Cranbury resident Kathy Easton will be presenting. Kathy has been a New Jersey birder for 40 years, and has been active in environmental education featuring our avian neighbors since 1998.  Kathy promotes environmental awareness as a volunteer in many organizations, including as an Associate Naturalist for NJ Audubon, a certified Rutgers Master Gardener of Mercer County, and Chair of the Cranbury Shade Tree Commission.
