General Information

  • Cranbury Township is approximately 13 square miles. The residential population is approximately 3,800 people. With the business population, the figure is approximately double.
  • We are located just outside Princeton, New Jersey, halfway between New York City and Philadelphia.
  • Our Department is composed of nineteen (19) sworn officers, one (2) Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police, and ten (10) school crossing guards.
  • The majority of our officers have six years or more service with our department. Most of our officers have come from other police departments or have attended the police academy via the alternate route program.
  • Many of our officers have Bachelor's Degrees, and some either have or are working on their Master's Degrees.
  • We have one officer who is a certified paramedic, two who are Drug Recognition Experts, and three who are traffic crash reconstructionists.
  • The South Brunswick Township Police Department provides dispatching services for our Department.
