Minutes: 05-25-06
Attendance: Beth Veghte, Ken Jacobs, Gene Buckley,
Michele Harcher, Richard Grubb, Mario and Chris Fiorentini, Jane Helstrom, Rose
Siconolfi and Edith Dlugokencki.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05
p.m.
OLD BUSINESS
1.
Beth brought a sample of the postcard mailing for the
event. Beth ordered the trophies. Chris asked to have a 1st place
prize and a 2nd place prize. A
motion was made by Gene Buckley that 1st place will be $150.00 and 2nd
place will be $50.00 and Jane Helstrom seconded it. All in favor. Motion carried. The Municipal Alliance will handle the
refreshments. Beth is still working on
the judges. Beth will be meeting with
Carol and Tom to go over the event. Beth
asked Chris if he had talked to Jessica from the Cranbury Press for an article
to be printed on Friday.
2. Needs
Assessment
Beth stated that the Planning Board was asked to change
the ordinance for some of the land usage parcels to active recreational
usage. Planning will not look at it
until Recreation has a Master Plan.
3. Recreation
Master Plan
Beth stated that we need to come up with a Master
Plan. The township Planner will work
with us to put a master plan together.
Beth asked if anyone was interested joining the subcommittee Gene agreed
to join.
4. Field
Use/Priority List
A fee for use of the fields was discussed due to the
increase of organizations that used our fields.

5. Movies and
Concerts in the Park
Ken Lelen has been booked for one of our concerts at the
church for Friday, July 28th.
The Accoustaholics are booked for
July 14th and the winner of the Battle of Bands will open up for
them. Beth went the Municipal Alliance
meeting and they had asked us to team up with them with a movie in the park for
the teens and they are looking at July 21st.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Film Club
Ken can not get in touch with the gentlemen to come to
our meeting.
3. Rich Grubb –
Possible Fields across Rt. 130
Rich did a presentation of the properties that could possibly
use for recreation.
4. Golden Agers
Rose stated that they asked the club if there was
anything they would like us to do and Rose said that there is no interest by
the members.
6. Senior
Fellowship
The recreation commission has paid $3000 for the exercise
classes and we have agreed to pay for the additional exercise classes. Beth asked for the commission to come up some
kind of formula that we will charge the seniors for the additional classes.
7. Other
Nothing to report.
