Police Department

• Applicants need to be between 21 and 35 years of age.
• Applicants must have a high school degree (college and/or military service is preferred)
• Applicants must have a valid New Jersey driver license.
• All applicants will complete a very detailed application and undergo a rigorous background investigation.
• After an interview with the Chief, Captain, and Lieutenant, successful candidates will be interviewed by the township committee.
• Applicants who are selected to continue past the interview process are required to pass physical and psychological examinations.
• Applicants must also meet all the qualification listed in 40A:14-122.
• We reserve the right to require written testing.
• The probationary period is one (1) year from the date of hire.
• All probationary officers must complete the required training.
