Employment

  • Applicants must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Applicants must possess a New Jersey PTC Certification for attending the Basic Course for Police Officers.
  • Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED (college and/or military service is preferred).
  • Applicants must have a valid New Jersey driver's license.
  • All applicants will complete a very detailed application and undergo a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Applicants/candidates will progress through a series of Command Staff interviews.
  • Applicants who are selected to continue beyond the interview process are required to pass physical and psychological examinations.
  • Applicants must also meet all the qualification listed in 40A:14-122.
  • The probationary period is one (1) year from the date of hire.
  • All probationary officers must complete the required training.
