The Cranbury Library Board of Trustees held its first organizational meeting on January 13, 1941. The Board is responsible for operating the library, hiring library staff, providing facilities, recreation and educational programs, books and other information materials.
The Board was consisted of eight members in 2007 and was voted to increase to nine members on January 10, 2008. The Mayor and the Superintendent of Schools, or their designated representatives, account for two members. The Mayor appoints the other five members who serve for a term of five years.
The Library Board of Trustees meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Library beginning at 7:30 p.m.
