HUMAN SERVICES BOARD

MIDDLESEX COUNTY

TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING

The regular meeting of the Cranbury Township Human Services Board was held in Town Hall on June 19, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER

With a quorum present, Rosemary Seghatoleslami, Chairwoman of the Cranbury Township Human Services Board, called the meeting to order and acted as the Chairwoman thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as Recording Secretary of the meeting.

MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

John Ritter, Phyllis Bialor, Jean Nostrand, Marie Dey, Howard Zogott and Rosemary Seghatoleslami.

NON-MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

Betty Conover.

MINUTES

The minutes of the May 15, 2007, meeting were reviewed and approved.

WORK SESSION

Cranbury Senior Community Center –

Kristen has ordered four 42” square library tables and a chair sample for the Board’s approval.  She will email everyone when it arrives.

Rosemary and Kristen will shop for easy chairs and a coffee table.

Kristen will inquire if cable has ever been ordered for the room

Rosemary and Howard advised that they attended the opening of “Senior Spaces” at the Old Bridge Library.  It included small conversation areas with chairs, coffee tables and rocking chairs.

Jay Hansen should be contacted about possible programs. 

The Senior Living Institute may also have programs. 

Howard will contact the Lions Club about the 9/15 opening, which will be held at 1:00 p.m. and will include an entertainment program and an informational portion. 

The Board reviewed the draft Room Use Policy.  Rosemary will make requested revisions and forward to the Township Attorney asap. 

John contacted Peg Chester of the Middlesex County Human Services Board and requested that she forward a RFP to the Township Clerk for funding. 

The County has agreed to send someone once per month beginning in October to provide counseling on social services between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Cranbury Day – The Board will have a table at Cranbury Day.  A flyer and schedule for the Senior Center should be available.

ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
