HUMAN SERVICES BOARD

TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING

The regular meeting of the Cranbury Township Human Services Board was held in Town Hall on April 17, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.

 

CALL TO ORDER

With a quorum present, Rosemary Seghatoleslami, Chairwoman of the Cranbury Township Human Services Board, called the meeting to order and acted as the Chairwoman thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as Recording Secretary of the meeting.

 

MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

John Ritter, Marie Dey, Phyllis Bialor, Joe Colombo, Jay Hansen, Warren Perrine, Howard Zogott and Rosemary Seghatoleslami.

 

NON-MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

            Betty Conover.

 

MINUTES

The minutes of the March 20, 2007, meeting were reviewed and approved.

 

WORK SESSION

           

            Cranbury Senior Community Center – A meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 23, 5:30 p.m., with Kathy Cunningham, Tom Witt, Pari Stave, Wayne Wittman, the Township Attorney, Rosemary and John to discuss the Senior Center and the expenditure of funds.  It is felt that no action can be taken until after the April 23rd meeting.  Due to the hold-up, the opening of the Center must be rescheduled.  A new target date of September 15, 2007, has been set. 

            Kristen advised that the Municipal Alliance is willing to do programs for seniors.

            John, Rosemary, Phyllis and Connie Bauder met with the Senior Living Institute about possible programs.

 

DISCUSSION

 

            Rosemary read an email which she received from Jan Bayern, wherein she advised that she has nothing to report and has only received simple referrals.

 

            John advised that a meeting on the Recreational Master Plan is scheduled for April 19, 7:00 p.m.

 

            Human Services should follow up on the grant, which may be available through Middlesex County, which pays for a part-time person to run senior activities. 

            Due to conflicts, it was determined that the next Human Services meeting should be held on May 15, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. rather than 1:00 p.m.

 

ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
