HUMAN SERVICES BOARD

TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING
The regular
meeting of the Cranbury Township Human Services Board was held in Town Hall on
February 15, 2006, at 7:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
With a
quorum present, Rosemary Seghatoleslami, Chairwoman of the Cranbury Township
Human Services Board, called the meeting to order and acted as the Chairwoman
thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as Recording Secretary of the meeting.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
John Ritter,
Joe Colombo, Jay Hansen, Les Hendrickson, Warren Perrine and Rosemary Seghatoleslami.
MINUTES
The minutes
of the January 18, 2006, meeting were reviewed and approved.
WORK SESSION
Social
Services Report – Rosemary read Jan Bayern’s report, wherein she advised that
she received a call from Officer Ziegler of the Cranbury Police Department
regarding the peculiar actions of a Township resident. The gentleman has been spoken to regarding
his actions and understands how his actions could have been misconstrued.
Rosemary updated
Chief Hansen on Jan Bayern’s January report regarding the Emergency Management
Plan. Chief Hansen advised that it has
been his responsibility for the last ten years and he has since turned the
matter over to Mayor Panconi.
Discussion
–
John Ritter
advised that he has been working on the Township’s website with Pari Stave to
add links for seniors.
John Ritter
has spoken with a Middlesex County representative regarding services available
to seniors and has found out that there are quire a few services provided free
of charge directly to Cranbury residents and through other municipalities. After much discussion, it was deemed
desirable to meet directly with a Middlesex County Human Services
representative to discuss available services.
Rosemary will contact the County for a contact person/appointment. Les Hendrickson, Warren Perrine and John
Ritter all expressed a desire to be included in the visit.
It was
agreed the Human Services Brochure should be reworked/updated. The Board will need to get a list of services
available and desired services. Copies
of the prior brochure will be provided to the Board prior to its March meeting.
On March
15, 2006, and April 26, 2006, State representatives will be available at the
Township to answer questions/provide help to seniors.
A letter
was received from the Middlesex County Department of Human Services seeking
volunteers for an advisory board.
It was agreed that the next Human Services Board meeting will be held on March 15, 2006.
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
There being
no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
