Cranbury Township

LETTER FROM THE MAYOR

Town Hall is a very busy place this summer. We are in transition.
As many Cranbury citizens are aware, Fred Carr resigned his position as Township Administrator in late May. The Township Committee has appointed Thomas C. Witt as Acting Administrator while the Committee conducts a search for a new Administrator. Thanks to the professionalism of the entire Township staff, I am pleased to report that the administrative transition continues to be a smooth one.

Mr. Witt is a Cranbury resident and has worked with Cranbury Township for more than 24 years. He possesses a broad understanding of the issues facing our community as well as its operational needs. In addition to his responsibilities as Acting Administrator, he will continue to serve both as Director of Public Works and as the Township’s Qualified Purchasing Agent. We are very fortunate that Mr. Witt has agreed to assume the important responsibilities vested with the Township Administrator under our form of government.

The Spring Newsletter included a citizen survey. Many residents responded to the survey offering many useful comments that Committee has shared with members of the Township staff. Respondents indicated a high degree of satisfaction with Township services. Among the suggested changes, Committee is moving forward with a recommendation for a more personal police presence in the community through creation of a “bike patrol.”

In May, the Township launched its new municipal website. Committeewoman Pari Stave spearheaded design of the website with Morris Enyeart of City Communications and Cranbury resident John Ritter. Among the features offered by the new website are Updates and Advisories, Community and Municipal calendars, maps, a searchable Township Code, archived meeting minutes and useful community links.
