Minutes: 8/25/05
Attendance: Mario Fiorentini, Rich Grubb, Beth Veghte,
Ken Jacobs, Bob O’Meara
The meeting was called to order at 8:10
p.m.
OLD BUSINESS
SUMMER CAMP: Tim
Brennan will be invited to the next meeting for review of Summer Camp. Changes need to be made to next years
registration forms and a simple form needs to be done for additional
weeks. Also discussed was possible loss
of discount next year after a certain date.
All registrations next year need to be done by Friday of previous week
or the child will not be able to attend camp on the following Monday. Swimming
was added this year to camp. The school
may have some construction done next summer, additional trips maybe needed. Overall camp when very well, and the
Counselors that were hired were the best yet.
Will be discussed the next meeting.
BIKE PATH
Will be discussed the next meeting.
BABE RUTH FIELD
Delayed. Bids were
done in June. Everyone agreed that was
the wrong time to do it. Bids will be
done again mid September.
PART-TIME RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Request has been submitted for the position.
WEB PAGE
Fall Golf and Fall Soccer registration forms have been
added to the webpage. Beth mentioned
adding a Hewybll..
WAIVER FOR AEROBICS, BASKETBALL
Ken stated that the waivers are done.
FALL BASKETBALL
Beth will find out this years schedule and take care of
the changes that need to be made to the forms.
SUMMER CONCERT/MOVIES
Ken stated that the last movie had a very good
attendance. The Cranbury Press ran an
article on this event. There was a poor
attendance for the first movie due to rain. Ken also stated the Todd Kimmel was
very difficult about his payment. He
gave Michele and Joanne a hard time and also went to
CRANBURY DAY
Recreation sponsored a moonwalk and slide. Yosi will be performing. Beth would like to put signs out advertising
the upcoming movie.
Ken stated he is booked solid and can not do at this
time. He stated that late May would be a
better time to do the camp out. A date
will be set at the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
FALL PROGRAMS
Soccer will be on Saturdays this fall. It was discussed that the fee for this
program was high. There were ideas
suggested to keep the fees down. Rich
and Bob thought that maybe the leagues who use our fields might volunteer a few
of their players to teach. Rich Grubb
also stated that the goals need to be painted.
Rich has asked Tom Witt to get the goals painted. The soccer flyer will be in the fall newsletter.
GOLDEN AGES AND SENIORS
Will be discussed the next meeting.
PARK UPDATE
The Township is trying to decide where to place the
“Updike Barn”. Parks felt the barn should
be in front of the cement block barn.
The barn can be renovated for future use. Beth would like to send a letter to the
Committee regarding the barn. Beth filed
a motion that the barn should be placed in front of the cement barn. All in favor.
EAGLE SCOUT
Chad Pinto received his Eagle Scout in August. Nice ceremony. His shed is in full use. Portable shelves were purchased and filled
with camp and T-Ball equipment. There is
still plenty of room for storage.
PARK RECREATION FEES
It was discussed that a fee be charged for the pavilion. The fee will help with costs of clean up and
for future projects to the parks. To be
discussed further in the next meeting.
OTHER
Beth stated the
RECREATION SOFTWARE
Beth would like some adjustments made to the
program. Reports need to be
adjusted. Ken will talk to the
programmer about the adjustments.
Mario was approached by his son Chris regarding having a
