Cranbury Recreation Commission

Minutes:  12-13-06


Attendance:  Beth Veghte, Rich Grubb, Ken Jacobs, Ed Sekelsky, Bob O’Meara,  Gene Buckley, Tim Brennan, Jeff Frain, Vinnie Kotowski and Michele Harcher


The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.


Review of the Minutes

10-26-06 – The minutes from 10-26-06 were approved as amended by a motion made by Ed Sekelsky and seconded by Gene Buckley.  All in favor.  Motion carried.




1.  Recreation Master Plan

Beth stated that Millstone Park will be done with the grant money.  Gene suggested that we should get a portable mound for the little league field when the park is completed.  Gene also suggested that we have the Little League and the soccer club help with the design.


2.  Seniors Exercise Program

No update per Beth, Wayne is still working on this.


3.  Senior Programs

A Tia Chi class, dance class and senior trip have been put together.  All the information will be put in the winter newsletter.


4.  2007 Concerts

1.  Tim Brennan – Summer Camp

Tim reported that the nurse was great and the camp went very smoothly.  There was only one injury, resulting in a trip to the hospital.  Tim stated that Ed the sports director was great and he is hoping to get the Art teacher back this year.


2.  Jeff Frain – Little League

Jeff stated that everything went smoothly with Village Park and the farm and T-ball teams just used Millstone Park.


3.  Vinnie Kotowski- Cranbury Soccer Club

Vinnie state that in the fall they had 6 teams, 3 at millstone and 3 at the west property.  He also stated that it will probably be the same in the spring.  Vinnie also state the he spoke to the coached regarding our rules with the fields.


4.  Golden Agers

Next meeting.


5.  Senior Fellowship

Next meeting.


6.  Park Update

Beth reported not much going on with this.  Beth also said that Parks will have a budget in 2007.


7.  Other

Ed did some research on portable rinks.  He state that he found a company in Canada and got a proposal from them for the commission to review.


The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.


The next meeting is dinner on January 25, 2007.
