Minutes: 09-28-06
Attendance: Beth Veghte, Jane Helstrom, Gene Buckley, Michele Harcher, Ed Sekelsky, Rose Siconolfi and Mario Fiorentini
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Recreation Master Plan
Beth reported that there was another meeting with the Planner they are still computing additional information and they will be having another meeting on October 18, 2006. Beth stated that she needs feedback from everyone regarding bike paths.
2. Camp Out
Michele gave the commission copy of a letter that was sent to the Township Committee praising Recreation Commission how wonderful the camp out was.
3. Field Use/Priority List – final vote
Beth presented Parks with the draft, Parks asked for a few changes Recreation agreed and made the changes. Beth will be taking the draft back to Parks for approval.
4. Budget 2007
The budget was discussed it will be the same as last year with the few minor changes. The Senior Program will be getting $2000 for buses and the Cranbury Soccer Club was removed.
5. Village Park Basketball Court Upgrades
Next meeting.
6. Senior Programs
On October 11, 2006 there will be a meeting in the school cafeteria for the senior’s. Beth also stated that she has made reservations for a show luncheon for the senior’s it will be on March 21, 2007 and the costs will be $39.50.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Golden Agers
Rose stated that on November 11, 2006 the will be going to Hunterdon Hills for a Christmas show.
2. Senior Fellowship
Rose reported that they went to Sandy Hook to see the lighthouse and they will be going to Meadowlakes.
3. Seniors & Adults over 50 Meeting
Not discussed.
4. Reservation Form Changes
Beth made changes to the current forms. A motion was made by Gene to take the restriction off of the little league fields and Jane second it, all in favor. Beth will ask Parks to put up signs that say “Permit Only” for Village Park.
5. Park Update
Not discussed.
6. Recreation Trust Fund Surplus
Not discussed.
7. Other
