A request was received from Barbara Kerckhoff to plant a Japanese Dogwood tree in Heritage Park in memory of Babs Thomsen, who was instrumental in saving the Old School and preserving Cranbury’s history.  Norma advised that the Shade Tree Commission has approved the planting.  Norma and Kathy will walk the park to decide on placement.  It was suggested that Mahbubeh Stave and/or Clara Amend accompany them.  Kathy will speak with the Public Works Department about planting specifics.  After much discussion, a motion was made by Tom; seconded by Beth, to approve the placement of a Japanese Dogwood in Heritage Park in memory of Babs Thomsen at a location to be determined by Norma and Kathy, with the understanding that the plaque must be approved prior to placement and the Township has no responsibility to replace the tree if it becomes necessary.  Beth seconded the motion; all in favor.

It was suggested that next month’s agenda include a discussion on what to do with the balance of the money received in memory of Judy Dossin.  Norma suggested planting crocuses in the meadow and Joan suggested purchasing a game table.

Joan contacted the Cranbury Press and sent pictures of the Arbor Day celebration.  She will contact the paper again and suggest that an article be published.
