PARK PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
January 9, 2008
TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING
The January meeting of the Park Planning Commission was held in Town Hall, Cranbury, New Jersey, on January 9, 2008, at 8:45 a.m.
CALL TO ORDER
The Secretary called the meeting to order at 8:45 a.m.
STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE
Pursuant to the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A 10:4-5) was provided on January 7, 2008, of this meeting’s date, time, and place and the agenda was mailed to the news media, posted on the Township bulletin board, mailed to those requesting personal notice and filed with the Municipal Clerk.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
Tom Weidner, Chris Parker, Joan Smith and Norma Swale attended.
A motion was made by Norma; seconded by Chris; all in favor, to nominate Tom Weidner as Chair of the Park Planning Commission for 2008. Tom accepted the nomination. The election of two vice-chairs was deferred until the February meeting.
The minutes from the December 12, 2007, meeting were approved as amended; motion by Tom; seconded by Chris.
Park Signage and Bench Committee – No update.
Gifts and Bequests Document – Sample documents from other municipalities and organizations have been received. Kristen will transmit same to Parks members for review.
Memorial Trees for Parks –No update. Norma expressed her desire to be on the committee.
Plaque for Babs Thomsen Tree – The Commission will look at plaques used by other parks for ideas. It was suggested that Marquand Park in Princeton be viewed for samples.
Statuary – Nothing to report.
Recreation – Nothing to report.
Joan noted that the liner of the skating rink in Village Park needs to be addressed. Norma will advise Public Works.
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:20 a.m. Motion by Tom; seconded by Joan; all in favor.
