TOWNSHIP OF CRANBURY

PARK PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

May 9, 2007

 

 

 

TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING

The May meeting of the Park Planning Commission was held in Town Hall, Cranbury, New Jersey, on May 9, 2007, at 8:45 a.m.

 

CALL TO ORDER

            Chairman Tom Weidner called the meeting to order at 8:45 a.m.  Kristen Hamilton acted as Secretary.

 

STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE

            Pursuant to the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A 10:4-5) was provided on January 2, 2007, of this meeting’s date, time, and place and the agenda was mailed to the news media, posted on the Township bulletin board, mailed to those requesting personal notice and filed with the Municipal Clerk.

 

MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

            Joan Smith, Tom Weidner, Chris Parker, Bill Schraudenbach and Kathy Wasson attended. 

 

MINUTES

            The minutes from the April 11, 2007, meeting were approved; motion by Kathy; seconded  by Chris.

           

NEW BUSINESS

 

Recreation – Nothing to report due to Beth’s absence.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Recreational Master Plan – Tom feels that the letter sent to the Planning Board from the Park Planning Commission was well received.  The preservation of the stream corridor and the identification of easements will be incorporated into the Recreational Master Plan.  Tom thanked  the Commission for its efforts in preparing the letter.

 

Park Signage – Nothing to report. 

 

Gifts and Bequests Document – Kathy will contact Pari Stave for an update.

 

Arbor Day – The Arbor Day celebration and dedication of “Judy Dossin Meadow” went well.  Judy’s family was very appreciative.

 

DISCUSSION

 

Kristen will check to see how much money is left over from the donations received in memory of Judy.

 

Tom advised that Pat Scott may be interested in becoming an Alternate Member of the Commission beginning in September.

 

Kathy will begin to research available grant monies.

 

Joan inquired about the pine trees that were planted along the Wright property.  It is believed they are on private property.  Kristen will check with Tom Witt. 

 

ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:25 a.m.  Motion by Tom; seconded by Joan; all in favor.
