TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING

The scheduled meeting of the Cranbury Township Municipal Alliance Committee was held on June 8, 2004 in the Town Library, 23 North Main Street, in Cranbury Township at 12:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER

With a quorum present, Joan Rue, Acting Chairperson, called session to order at 12:12 p.m. and acted as Chairperson thereof, and Kathleen S. Wasson acted as Secretary of the meeting.

STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE

Pursuant to the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6) was provided on January 7, 2003 of this meeting’s date, time and place and agenda was mailed to the news media, posted on the Township bulletin board, mailed to those requesting personal notice, and filed with the Municipal Clerk.

MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

Acting Chairperson Joan Rue, Christine Orcutt, Fay Kobland, Carol Malouf and Captain Ed Kahler attended. Also in attendance were Township Administrator Fred Carr, prospective Alliance member Colleen Marsh and Michele Hlewicki, Coordinator, Lawrence Alcohol and Drug Alliance.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

None.

MINUTES

Minutes of April 20, 2004 were unanimously approved as amended; motion by Chris Orcutt, second by Captain Kahler. Minutes of May 25, 2004 were unanimously approved as amended; motion by Chris Orcutt, second by Captain Kahler.

OLD BUSINESS

• Fay Kobland reviewed the chat group program, run by Ken Hoyne. Joan presented the bills submitted for payment for chat groups run in March, April and May, in the amount of $1125.00 and asked for approval of this payment. Joan requested that Corner House give the Alliance a biannual bill, as opposed to an annual bill. Motion by Chris Orcutt, second by Fay Kobland. Joan asked for consideration of payment of the Rita’s Ice for the PTO JamFest. Chris Orcutt moved to pay the PTO (approximately) $85.00, second by Captain Kahler. The vote was unanimous in favor of approval.

• Chris Orcutt will run the 6-8^th grade pool party again this summer, with help from Colleen Marsh.

NEW BUSINESS

• Captain Kahler said that the fishing derby will be held on June 19^th, and volunteers are welcome to help bait the hooks. He will prepare a flyer to go home with Cranbury School students.

• Joan said that she would like to run the expert panel program on Drug and Alcohol abuse again in the Fall. Michele H. suggested a one-hour program which is free and which she has seen and likes very much.

• Joan introduced Michele and allowed her time to address the Alliance members concerning her interest in the Cranbury MA Coordinator position. She discussed several programs which she runs in Lawrence.

• Chris Orcutt made a motion to offer the Coordinator position to Michele H., as a part-time position paying $25.00 per hour, with an evaluation of her work after 6 months, which would be 12/31/04. Captain Kahler seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. It was noted that Michele would be included in planning the summer pool party.

ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING

There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting was thereupon adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
