TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING

            The scheduled meeting of the Cranbury Township Municipal Alliance Committee was held on May 10, 2007, in the Library meeting room, 23 North Main Street, in Cranbury Township at 8:15 a.m.

 

CALL TO ORDER

            Chairperson Jane Holland called the session to order and acted as Chairperson thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as Secretary of the meeting.

 

STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE

            Pursuant to the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6) was provided on January 2, 2007, of this meeting’s date, time and place and the agenda was posted on the Township bulletin board, mailed to those requesting personal notice, and filed with the Municipal Clerk.

 

MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE

            Jane Holland, Karen Henderson, Ed Kahler, Nancy Chambers, Fay Kobland, Mia Lindberg, Joan Rue, Carol Malouf and Colleen Marsh attended the meeting.

 

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES IN ATTENDANCE

            Samantha Pinto.

 

MINUTES

            The Minutes of the April 12, 2007, meeting were reviewed and approved on a motion by Fay Kobland, seconded by Ed Kahler.  Karen Henderson, Nancy Chambers, Mia Lindberg and Colleen Marsh in favor; Jane Holland, Carol Malouf and Joan Rue abstained.

 

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES’ REPORT

            Jane advised Samantha that the Student Council is expected to help at the Drug Free Fair.

 

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

            Jane inquired of the Lions Club if there would be any storage space available once they renovate their barn.  Wayne Wittman is looking into possible storage space solutions.

            Jane advised that chat groups would be expanded for next year to include 5th graders.

 

POLICE REPORT

Ed advised that the police recently received a call from parents of an underage child that came home drunk.   Unfortunately, they will see more of this type of activity with summer coming. 

 

BUDGET

            The MA reviewed expenditures to date and accepted the budget as presented. 

           

OLD BUSINESS

 

            Drug Free Fair – Plans are proceeding.  Volunteers are needed for the Teen Tent.  Nancy volunteered to purchase drinks and snacks.  Kristen will send an email asking for volunteers.  Jane is working on handouts.

 

            Mailing in 8th Grade Report Cards –          Carol advised that information could be included in the report card mailing in June or the mailing that is sent to all high school students in mid-August.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

            Battle of the Bands – Jane advised that the MA is co-sponsoring the Battle of the Bands with Cranbury Recreation on June 8th.  Carol advised that the date would need to be changed due to the 8th grade dance being on the same night.  Kristen will notify Beth Veghte of the conflict. 

 

ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING

            There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting was thereupon adjourned.
