TIME AND PLACE OF
MEETING
The scheduled meeting of the
Cranbury Township Municipal Alliance Committee was held on January 26, 2006, in
the Library meeting room, 23 North Main Street, in Cranbury Township at 12:30
p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
In Joan Rue’s absence, Angie Cook
called the session to order and acted as Chairperson thereof, and Kristen
Hamilton acted as Secretary of the meeting.
STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE
NOTICE
Pursuant to the Sunshine Law,
adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act (N.J.S.A.
10:4-6) was provided on January 4, 2006, of this meeting’s date, time and place
and the agenda was posted on the Township bulletin board, mailed to those
requesting personal notice, and filed with the Municipal Clerk.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
Karen Henderson, Debi Mara, Fay Kobland,
Captain Kahler and Angie Cook attended the meeting.

Susan Paterson, Municipal Alliance
Coordinator, and Beverly Gerberich, School Nurse
NOMINATIONS FOR
CHAIRPERSON
The members present elected to defer
the nominations for Chairperson until the February meeting due to the fact that
Joan Rue was not present to explain the expectations and duties of
Chairperson. Motion by Angie, second by
Colleen. The vote was unanimous in favor
of deferring nominations until February.
MINUTES
The members present elected to
postpone the approval of the December 15, 2005, Minutes until the February
meeting.
MISCELLANEOUS
Beverly Gerberich, Cranbury School Nurse, informed the Alliance that the
Middlesex County Chapter of the National Council Against Alcoholism and Drug
Dependency (NCAAD) would like to outreach into municipalities. She advised they have a program that they
bring into schools called “Wasted” for grades 6 – 8 which may be of
interest. Susan Paterson will contact
NCAAD for more information.
Beverly also advised that NCAAD will be present at the Drug Free Fair.
OLD BUSINESS
·
Angie Cook
advised that Chris Posner would be willing to cater a teen event. The first weekend in March will be the target
date for such an event.

Jane Holland
forwarded a memo regarding the success of JamFest.
NEW BUSINESS
·
There will be a
table at the Drug Free Fair headed by the Student Representatives.
·
Susan Paterson
will have a letter and/or brochure available to hand out at the Drug Free Fair
and a sign-up sheet for e-mails.
·
The Student
Representatives will come up with options to the middle school dances.
·
The Alliance
would like Dr. Moore and Corner House to provide reports on the chat groups.
ADJOURNMENT OF
MEETING
There being no further business, on
motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting was thereupon adjourned at
1:30 p.m.
