HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
CRANBURY, NEW JERSEY
TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING
The meeting of the Cranbury Township Historic Preservation Commission was held in Town Hall, Cranbury, New Jersey, on December 4, 2007 beginning at 7:30 pm.
STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE
Pursuant of the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-5) was provided this meeting’s date, time, place and agenda was mailed to the news media, posted on the Township bulleting board, mailed to those requesting personal notice and filed with the Municipal Clerk.
CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum present, Chairperson, Bobbie Marlowe called the meeting to order and Linda M. Scott performed as Secretary.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
Diane Stasi, Wayne Girardet, Harry Williams and Chair, Bobbie Marlowe were present.
The minutes from the November 20, 2007 HPC meeting were reviewed, amended and approved with a motion by Bobbie Marlowe, second by Harry Williams, all in favor. Record will reflect that Wayne Girardet abstained from voting on the minutes.
Diane asked about the final year end report. The Administrative Officer is updating this report and will have it ready for HPC to review at their next meeting. A cover letter will be generated.
Diane expressed that HPC investigate the benefits of possibility being a Certified Local Government (CLG) member.
The Guidelines will be mentioned in the report. HPC is eager to see any updates and is at a lose Gail Hunton submitted her revised Guidelines schedule in July. September 26, 2007, a draft was sent but did not include any photos. Gail has been waiting for the foliage to fall so a clearer picture can be taken of the subjects.
Harry suggested and then motioned that Bobbie, as Chair of HPC, contact Gail and request that she submit a report. This was second by Diane, all in favor. Bobbie will contact secretary on Wednesday regarding this.
Lisa Beach, CHPS 2008 President, was present for observation of the HPC meeting. HPC volunteered the Guidelines history to her. The Guidelines will be available on line as a helpful tool for all to use.
HPC also explained the logic behind conceptual applications and their input. Time frame varies on the degree of work proposed. Depending on the location, HPC does consider different aspects of each application.
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
There being no further business, a motion duly made by Bobbie Marlowe, seconded by Wayne Girardet and carried, the meeting was thereupon adjourned.
