Describe your storm drain inlet labeling program, including your labeling schedule, the details of your long-term maintenance plan, and plans on coordinating with watershed groups or other volunteer organizations.
For our storm-drain inlet-labeling program, we plan on coordinating with our local scouting groups. Where it is practical, they will do the labeling for us. In areas where it is not safe for the volunteer groups, the Department of Public Works and/or the Environmental Commission will do the labeling.
Storm drain inlets are being labeled with permanent plastic disks that are attached to the inlet or to the adjacent curb. We will label all storm drain inlets that are along municipal streets with sidewalks, and all storm drain inlets within parking areas that are operated by Cranbury Township.
Many of the inlets along the main streets in the historic district have already been labeled. More will be labeled each summer, with all labeling complete by April 2009. Annual maintenance will be conducted by the scouting groups, the Department of Public Works, and/or the Environmental Commission.
