CRANBURY, NEW JERSEY
TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING
The regular meeting of the Cranbury Township Environmental Commission was held in Town Hall on February 12, 2007, at 7:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum present, James Gallagher, Chairman of the Cranbury Township Environmental Commission, called the meeting to order and acted as the Chairman thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as Recording Secretary of the meeting.
STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE
Pursuant with the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6) was provided on January 2, 2007, of this meeting's date, time, place, and agenda, was mailed to the news media, was posted on the Township bulletin board, was mailed to those requesting personal notice, and was filed with the Municipal Clerk.

James Gallagher, John Kobland, John Reinfelder, Thomas Patterson, Andrew Johnson and Dietrich Wahlers.
NON-MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
Paul Mullen and Anneli TerryNelson of the Stonybrook-Millstone Watershed Association.
The minutes of the January 15, 2007, meeting were reviewed and approved as amended on a motion by Dietrich Wahlers; seconded by John Reinfelder. John Kobland and Jim Gallagher in favor; Tom Patterson and Andy Johnson abstained.
Preserve Management Plan - Jim Gallagher spoke to Laura Coover of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, who advised that the grant approval was not received. However, she advised that the grant application was being revised and resubmitted due to an error made in the application process. She should know by the end of the month if the grant is approved.
Cranbury Brook Water Sampling – Bill Mikula completed the water sampling and is preparing the report to send to the NJDEP. The EC reviewed the report received from Accutest.
Soil Testing – John Reinfelder received the soil test data and will prepare something for the next Township newsletter.
John Kobland contacted the Stonybrook-Millstone Watershed Association to inquire about its education programs. He should have more information by the March meeting.
Jim advised that the Stream-Corridor Ordinance Subcommittee is waiting to hear from Richard Preiss on the reformatting of the Ordinance.
Dietrich advised that Freehold Soil has lifted its stop work order on the Holland House due to the owner submitting plans. Dietrich will follow up with Freehold Soil.
John Reinfelder questioned Tom Witt if recycling cans can be installed on Main Street. Tom advised that the trash company separates the trash after pick up so recycling cans are not necessary.
Kristen will inquire of the Township Clerk if she has a copy of the wetlands application for the Unexcelled Property.
Jim will get a copy of the article on the “Highlands Act” which was published in the Cranbury Press and New York Times and distribute for review and discussion at next month’s meeting.
Paul Mullen spoke to the Commission about why he desires to become a member of the EC. He is most interested in community education and global warming.
Anneli TerryNelson of the Stonybrook-Millstone Watershed Association advised that she is organizing a “National River Clean Up Week” on June 2, 2007, and questioned if Cranbury Township would be interested in participating. She will email information.
A motion was made by John Kobland, seconded by Tom, all in favor, for EC to enter into closed session to discuss personnel matters (potential new member). Shortly thereafter, the session was reopened to the public
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
There being no further business, the meeting was thereupon adjourned.
