ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION
CRANBURY, NEW
TIME AND PLACE OF
MEETING
The regular meeting of the Cranbury
Township Environmental Commission was held in Town
Hall on January 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum present, Peter Sibley,
Chairman of the Cranbury Township Environmental Commission, called the meeting
to order and acted as the Chairman thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as
Recording Secretary of the meeting.
STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE
Pursuant with the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the
Open Public Meeting Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6) was provided on January 4, 2006, of
this meeting's date, time, place, and agenda, was mailed to the news media, was
posted on the Township bulletin board, was mailed to those requesting personal
notice, and was filed with the Municipal Clerk.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
James Applegate, John
Kobland, Thomas Patterson, Barbara Rogers, and Peter Sibley, Chair.
NON-MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
Harry Strano of Amy Greene Associates, Anna Drago, Betty Wagner and
David Stout, Township Liaison to the Environmental Commission.
MINUTES
The minutes of the December 19,
2005, meeting were reviewed and approved on a motion by James
Applegate; seconded by John Kobland.
Barbara Rogers and Pete Sibley in favor; Tom Patterson abstained.
WORK SESSION
Environmental Resource Inventory – A draft of the ERI was provided to the EC prior to the meeting. Harry Strano of Amy Greene Associates
presented a Powerpoint presentation to the EC, which included draft maps for
the ERI. The EC raised questions and
commented on the draft documents. Tom
Patterson noted same and will e-mail them to Harry for
consideration.
Pete will inquire of the Township
Engineer if public community wells are still in use.
The ANJEC Grant requires the EC to
hold a public meeting to review the draft ERI prior to the end of February and
invite the Planning Board and ANJEC to said meeting. Barbara Rogers will provide an update to
Barbara Palmer of ANJEC and invite her to the EC’s February 21st
meeting.
The Grant also requires the EC to
present the ERI to the Planning Board before the end of April. Dave Stout will speak with Tom Harvey of the
Planning Board to request getting on the Planning Board’s agenda before the end
of April.
Cranbury Brook Preserve – Jim Applegate has received a
letter from the Natural Resources Conservation Service. He will forward a copy to Pete and Dave Stout
and contact them upon his return from vacation in approximately three weeks.
A motion was made by Pete to enter into executive session, seconded
by Barbara, all in favor.
Meeting
was reopened to the public.
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING
There being no further business, on
motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting was
thereupon adjourned.
