CRANBURY, NEW JERSEY
TIME AND PLACE OF MEETING
The regular meeting of the Cranbury Township Environmental Commission was held in Town Hall on November 19, 2007, at 7:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum present, James Gallagher, Chairman of the Cranbury Township Environmental Commission, called the meeting to order and acted as the Chairman thereof, and Kristen H. Hamilton acted as Recording Secretary of the meeting.
Pursuant with the Sunshine Law, adequate notice in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6) was provided on January 2, 2007, of this meeting's date, time, place, and agenda, was mailed to the news media, was posted on the Township bulletin board, was mailed to those requesting personal notice, and was filed with the Municipal Clerk.
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE
James Gallagher, Tom Patterson, John Reinfelder, Andrew Johnson, Barbara Rogers and Paul Mullen.
The minutes of the October 15, 2007, meeting were reviewed and approved on a motion by Barbara Rogers; seconded by John Reinfelder. Tom Patterson abstained; all others in favor.
Preserve Management Plan – Jim has not received any additional information from the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Barbara has not yet met with Kathy Easton.
Stormwater Management Plan – No update.
2008 Appointments – John Kobland advised via email that he does not wish to continue on the EC once his term has expired at the end of the year. Paul Mullen will become a permanent member and two alternate positions remain open. A notice should be put on the Township’s website advising of the openings.
Jim advised that he recently attended a seminar regarding unregulated storage tanks. He learned that the tanks will start being regulated, i.e. a certified contractor must remove and report any contamination.
The EC reviewed a letter dated November 2, 2007, from Timothy H. Hand of DMJM Harris, regarding New Jersey Turnpike Widening. The letter is seeking input concerning potential Stream Corridor mitigation sites. Jim will contact Mr. Hand for more specific information. He will also contact the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association and D & R Canal.
John Reinfelder advised that he sent a letter to Bridget Lundquist regarding the EC’s desire to participate in the Cranbury School Science Fair.
Andy reviewed the Biennial Certification Monitoring Report for Service Station No. 985, Route 130 South and Half Acre Road, sent by Atlantic Richfield Company to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection by letter dated September 14, 2007, and discovered that the property is the BP Gas Station.
Andy will speak with Dave Stout regarding the triangular piece of property near the intersection of Route 130 and Cranbury-South River Road for potential projects.
Kristen will forward a copy of the 2006 Year-End Report and 2007 Goals to the members for review so they are prepared to discuss updates at the December meeting.

There being no further business, the meeting was thereupon adjourned.
